RVers have been using wind directed vent caps for a couple years. These directional vent caps are great but the Xtreme Vent by Coil n’ Wrap is the ultimate venting system. Meet Ken Wilton owner of Coil n’ Wrap.

You may have visited with Ken and his wife Judy at a recent RV show as they frequently demonstrate their products at these events. Judy introduced me to this great new product.

These vents replace conventional vent caps on the roof of your RV. They work all the time whether your RV is traveling or stationary. Unlike the cheaper plastic models, they’re made of powder-coated aluminum and have a 2 year warranty.

They work better because they are open on the front with a funnel design creating a venturi effect.

The venturi effect actively vents odors from your tank and brings oxygen into the tank promoting natural enzymatic decomposition. They come in two colors, white and charcoal. And best of all they're made in the U.S.A.

I recommend putting one of these on both your black water and gray water vents. Xtreme Vent will fit most RV vent pipes, but if your vent pipe is too short order the coupler and follow the easy installation instructions.

This looks like a cool item, however I would install some screen door screen in the vent pipe first to insure that you don't get any critters (bees or mud dobbers) in the pipe and clog it up. (You know, a stich in time)
What type of caulk are you using? Can I assume that it's not the self-leveling king? It seems like that would ultimately ooze down & out onto the roof, reducing the sealing effect you wanted.
Have one, works great.
Nice device, and it works. It would be nice if it came with a collar or escutcheon that covers the base of the stink pipe. It would lend a nice finishing touch.

Jim, I'd also recommend putting a dab of dicor or silicone over the screws just to ensure no leaks from outside and to help hold your screws in. May be a little paranoid on my part, but I don't think there's any such thing as overkill for stopping leaks.
They installed one for us, but it came off, blew off or somehow wasn't there any longer after only a few weeks. The next rally we talked to someone @ Coil n Wrap and they had no interest in backing up their installation!

ALL I can say is WOW............. I owned my 1998 Itaska for 7 years. We just came back from a trip up the California/Oregon coast we have 2 -2" vents on the roof, anyway I have tried EVERYTHING you can think of to get rid of the smell of the holding tanks.... empty or full, kept water in the sinks and in the toilets, all the chemicals... you name it we tried it... We could NEVER open our windows ...EVER somehow the windows would make like a vortex thru the coach and the smells were always there... long story short...we installed two of the Xtreme Vents before we left our trip. Drove over 2000 miles with the WINDOWS DOWN... Amazing ...Please don't hesitate to buy them you will wish you did it a long time ago

Almost installed one except after getting on the roof I wondered what would happen to the device if I were to drive someplace that had some low tree branches so I changed my mind and returned it.

These kinds of caps are a neat idea. For those worrying about knocking them off with a limb, they will probably survive a bout with a limb as good or better than the plastic cap you currently have on your roof.(Are you sure it's still there?) The sunlight will cook a plastic one in a few years to the point where the wind will separate it.
The only problem I have with the installation is NEVER use a silicone product on your roof. As soon as it dries, you can wipe it off with a brush of your hand. The only sealant that should be used on a Rubber Roof system should be a Lap Sealant. Dicor makes a great one as well as several other companies. Do yourself a favor and check your roof out for cracks now and get some lap sealant and fill them before you see the water damage inside of your coach.
